Mr. William Robert
Bryan, 87, of Eufaula, Baker Hill Community, Alabama, died at home Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 3 P.M, at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Shaun Shirley officiated and burial followed in the Pond Bethel Church Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing.
Born August 20, 1937 in Goshen, Alabama, Mr. Bryan was the son of the late James Robert and Woody Annette Jordan Bryan. Mr. Bryan was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in the National Guard upon discharge. He retired from A & P Grocery Store and then worked at Woodham’s IGA in Eufaula. He was one of the founding fathers of the Baker Hill Volunteer Fire Department and the Baker Hill Rescue Squad and he was very active in both. He called bingo on Saturday nights for the Fire Department for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jean Bryan; two daughters: Sondra (Greg) Marshall and Susan (Tim) Young; four grandchildren: Hannah Marshall (James Wisdom), Katie (Dylan) Ludlam, Christy (Shawn) Mancill, Sam Young; eight grandchildren: Nathan Ludlam, Emma Ludlam, Everly Ludlam, Siah Mancill, August Mancill, Adalie Mancill, Ethan Mancill, Emily Mancill; and one sister: Phyllis Bryan.
Pallbearers were George Lucas, Edward Miller, Jerry McGilvray, John Leath, Paul McGilvray, John Forrester, Marc Hudson and Greg Bryan.
