Alabama Power Company has a temporary substation located on the property of the former Van Heusen property on North Midway Street in Clayton. The temporary substation will be used to transfer electrical service to Clayton customers while utility crews update and inspect the current substation. Once the work is completed the temporary substation will be moved and electrical service will again be transferred to the existing substation.
