TAMI LYNN EZELL-TEAGUE

Tami Lynn Ezell-Teague was shepherded into Heaven and reunited with her beloved husband by the Lord on October 29th, 2024.

She was born on February 7th, 1959 to Ed and Bonnie Seaborn Ezell in Clayton, Alabama. She loved her hometown and enjoyed growing up there. She attended Dixie Academy, graduating in 1977, and would go on to receive a bachelor’s degree in social rehabilitation from Troy State University in 1981. She would go on to pursue work in Montgomery, Alabama, where she would start a career as a lobbyist and meet, and later marry, the love of her life, John Teague, in 1991.

Tami Teague was a woman with a big heart. She valued her home, her family, and her friends above all else, and was never a stranger to those she didn’t know. She spoke often of Clayton, her hometown, and her memories of it would always hold a good deal of space in that heart. She was proud to be from the ‘Great State of Barbour,’ as her father would often call it, and was a neverending wellspring of stories and tales from her childhood there. The friends she made there always held her in high regard, considering her a warm, kind, and genuine person. This would continue with the sorority sisters of the Phi Mu, of which she was a proud member, as well as those she met from her many years of lobbying work at the Alabama State House. Those that knew Tami knew her to be a great lover of fashion and fine things. She truly enjoyed her clothes and makeup and spared no effort in showcasing these things when she left the house. From the worn insides of her high heels to the dresses on hangers, and even the lipsticks all worn down in the same way. These things now stand as a symbol of her beauty and the great and meticulous effort she made to achieve it. Another point of endless pride for her was her home, which, like herself, was ceaselessly toiled over to be made immaculate. Tami was someone who was driven, and if she had a vision for something, she would work herself to the bone to achieve it- both at home and in her profession as a lobbyist.

Claiming the largest place in her heart would be her family. Tami was a sister, a cousin, a wife, and a mother. She surrounded herself with family, loved to be with them and entertain them, and most importantly she was always ready to help her family at a moment’s notice. When there was a gathering, she would want everyone to sit in bed with her and watch Days of Our Lives, a show that she never missed a single episode of. One cannot stress that this was a woman with a large heart, as there was no end to the love and importance she placed on her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, John, and is survived by her brother, Ronny Ezell, her son, John Allison Teague, II, stepchildren Allison Bell (Kenny) and Todd Teague.

A celebration of life will be held on January 12, 2025 from 2 pm – 4 pm at Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery.
