Shun Tina Simone Diggs Jones of Clayton, Alabama passed on May 19, 2023 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.

Born on October 26, 1992, she was the daughter of Willie Arthur Diggs and Jennifer Palmore Diggs.

Shun Tina was educated in the Barbour County School System at Clayton Elementary and Middle Schools. She was a graduate of Barbour County High School, Class of 2012. She graduated with Honors and was Class Secretary. She was an active participant in band, SGA, FBLA, Science, and Math club. ShunTina furthered her higher educational goals by obtaining an Associate’s Degree in both Criminal Law and Nursing from Penn Foster College. She worked as a 911 dispatcher at the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office. Also, she worked as a Home and Healthcare nurse.

Shun Tina received her Class B Teaching License in Education at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama. In her spare time, she worked diligently as President of the Parents Teachers Organization (PTO) of Barbour County Primary and Intermediate Schools. On her off time, she enjoyed weekends with her family, relaxing on the sandy beaches of Destin, Florida.

She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Detrius Jones; daughter, Taiiya Jenese Goodwin; mother, Jennifer Palmore Diggs; father, Willie Arthur Diggs; grandmothers, Olivia Denese Welch and Willie Frank Diggs; three brothers; five uncles; one aunt; two step-sons; a mother-inlaw; and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial (wake) service will be held Friday, May 26th, at Stanford Memorial Chapel, in Eufaula, Alabama beginning at 1:00pm.

Funeral services and Internment will be Saturday, May 27th, at Mount Mariah Baptist Church, 11 Mt. Mariah Church Rd., in Clayton, Alabama at 11:00am.
