Sheree “Sissy” Fortune Elder, a resident of Clayton, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at her residence. She was 61 years old.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Glover Funeral Home in Clayton with Rev. Don Highland and Bro. Eddie Davis officiating. The burial followed in the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers were accepted.
Sissy was born October 20, 1963 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Joel D. and Anne McKee Fortune. She loved animals, music, and singing. Sissy was the life of the party and loved to make others laugh and smile. She was loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Susan Baker and Betty Baker Braswell; a bonus Mom, that raised her as her own daughter, Linda Trammell.
Left to cherish her loving memories are her bonus Dad, that raised her as his own daughter, James Daniel Trammell; four brothers, Don Baker (Nancy), Max Fortune, Randy Fortune (Deborah), and John Fortune (Julie); two sisters, Leda Baker McKemy (Lloyd) and Leisa Fortune Davis; her beloved dog, Hank; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Asked to serve as pallbearers were Don Baker, Max Fortune, Randy Fortune, John Fortune, Shane Dozier, and Scott Dozier. Glover Funeral Home of Clayton was entrusted with the arrangements.
