Ruby Mae McCoy Knight, a resident of Clayton, Alabama passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula, Alabama. She was 96 years old.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Friendly Assembly of God in Texasville, Alabama with Rev. Ronnie Benefield officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. Burial followed in the New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church cemetery in Edwin, Alabama. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Flowers were accepted.

Ruby was born November 2, 1927 in Texas County, Missouri to the late Lum and Mary E. Phillips McCoy. She enjoyed cooking for her family, word search puzzles, watching soap operas, and was an avid Alabama football fan. Roll Tide!!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Preston Knight; daughter, Carol Ann Wood; grandson, Timothy Lee Knight; granddaughter, Michelle Wood; great-grandson, Chris Caple Wood.

Survivors are three sons, Gary Knight (Tania), Jimmy Knight (Donna), Jerry Knight; daughter, Mary Jimenez (Ramiro); sister, Juanita McLain; nine grandchildren, Marc Knight, Matthew Knight (Micaela), Nicole Dunn (Cyrus), Joshua Knight (Heather), Melissa Palma (Cornelio), Heather Milton, Ashley Henderson, Melinda Wood, Thomas Wood Jr.; nine great grandchildren, Timothy Knight, Alexis Dunn, Emma Dunn, Hunter Knight, Jadyn Milton, Ethan Milton, Ivey Coleman, Ivory Coleman, Daimion Jones; several great-great grandchildren. Asked to serve as pallbearers were Charles Bowden Jr., Marc Knight, Matthew Knight, Joshua Knight, Cyrus Dunn, Ramiro Jimenez, Daimion Jones, and Thomas Wood Jr.
