Ruby Jean Green Johnson, a resident of Phenix

City, Alabama passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee, Georgia. She was 90 years old.

Graveside services were held Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville, Alabama with Rev. Curtis Rich officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.

Ruby was born December 20, 1933 in Louisville, Alabama to the late Phillip Oscar and Inez Smoot Green. After graduating from Louisville High School, she married into the Air Force at the age of 18 and travelled the world as a military wife. Ruby enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and embroidering. Ruby was active in church and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church but more recently attended Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Victor Green; sister, Evelyn G. Stroh.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Ollie V. Johnson; son, Gary M. Johnson (Susan); daughter, Bethany A. Beasley (William); three grandchildren, Michaela Jean Beasley, William “Justin” Beasley, and Max Michael Johnson (Aimee); two greatgrandchildren, Deacon Johnson and Parker Johnson; six nephews, Roger Green, Sam Stroh, Al Stroh, Gerald Stroh, John Michael Thomas, and John Moore; two nieces, Glenda Dykes and Julie Thomas.
