Michael Charles Gothard, a resident of Clayton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his residence. He was 67 years old.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton, Alabama with Pastor Alfonzie Ross officiating. The burial followed at Rocky Mount Methodist Church Cemetery in Baker Hill, Alabama with Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. A visitation was held Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Clayton, Alabama. Flowers will be accepted.

Mike was born February 8, 1957, in New Haven, Connecticut to Charles Frank Gothard and Audrey Bernyce Ballou Gothard and spent most of his life in Clayton, Alabama. He served 4 years with the Marine Corp. and 24 years with the National Guard. Mike worked as a diesel mechanic for Boyd Brothers Transportation for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, farming, and gardening.

He is preceded in death by his father and a son,

Survivors include his mother; loving wife of 45 years, Bobbie Jo Shellhouse Gothard; daughter, Jennie Gothard Domino of Eufaula, Alabama; two brothers, Brian Gothard (Tracy) of Dothan, Alabama and Kevin Gothard of Clayton, Alabama; three sisters, Janet Gardner (James) of Clayton, Alabama, Brenda Hummel (Frank) of Woodinville, Washington, and Karen Hamilton of Montgomery, Alabama; two grandchildren, Aiden Domino and Hailey Domino, both of Eufaula, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Asked to serve as pallbearers were Chris Gardner, Bennie Shellhouse, Jr., Joe Gothard, James Clemmons, Taylor Campbell, and Larry Moseley.
