KENNETH MERRILL WILLIAMS

Mr. Kenneth Merrill Williams of Louisville passed away in the Southeast Health Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama Sunday, February 12, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He lived his entire life in Barbour County, Alabama. He was 70.

Funeral service for Mr. Williams will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Pea River Presbyterian Church with Pastor Trip Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday, February 17, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Jason Abercrombie, Josh Abercrombie, William Helms, Don Highland, Scott Colvin and Steve Baxter. Honorary pallbearers will be Church officers.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Palmer Home for Children, new address: 300 Baldwin Road South, Lake Cormorant, MS 38641.

Mr. Williams was a lifelong member of Pea River Presbyterian Church and held the offices of Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Elder, Clerk of Session, Trust Fund Chair and a member of the cemetery committee. He had a long career as a cotton mill worker, including a Lab Technician and a shift Supervisor at TNS Mills in Eufaula. He graduated from Barbour County High School (1970) in Clio, Alabama and graduated from Sparks Technical School in Eufaula in the field of Industrial Electricity in 1973. He served 6 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, 1103th Transportation unit out of Clayton, Alabama as a truck driver.

Left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Powers Williams; one daughter, Susan (John) Sauls; one grandson, Jackson Sauls of Daleville, Alabama; one sister, Gladys Williams Ussery of Columbus, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Janette Reed Williams of Louisville, and countless nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Warren Williams, Jr. and Berta Abercrombie Williams; one brother, Robert Milton Williams Sr., brother-in-law, Wade Ussery and one nephew, Brad Ussery.
