JUDY ANN BLANKENSHIP ABERCROMBIE

Judy Ann Blankenship Abercrombie was born March 11, 1947 in Abbeville, AL to Virginia Irene Hutto and George Blankenship. She passed away October 30, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was 75.

Graveside services were held Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clio, Alabama at 7:00 am, Pastor Trip Ethridge officiated with Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. The family received friends Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Clayton from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Asked to serve as pallbearers were Brian Gulledge, Chace Bryan, Zach Gulledge, A.J. Jenkins, Tyler Gulledge, and Hunter McClure. Honorary Pallbearer was Aiden Jenkins.

Flowers were accepted. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Blankenship, Jim Blankenship, Mike Blankenship, and George Blankenship, Jr.; sisters, Sarah Daisy and Jeanette Givens; sisters-in-law, Lillian Baxter and Scarlette Abercrombie; great grandchildren, Cidney and George Barber.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jerry Abercrombie, children, Penny (Steven) Bryan, Randy Gulledge, Kim (Andy) Cordell, and Danny (Tamera) Gulledge; grandchildren, Brian Gulledge, Kayla Moates, Emily Jenkins, Chelsea Barber, Chace Bryan, Hunter McClure, Lauren Gulledge, Zack Gulledge, Brianna Gulledge and Tyler Gulledge; great grandchildren, Jalissa Thompson, Cloie Barber, Aiden Jenkins, Elissa Jenkins, Kendra Thomas, Caleb Jenkins, Sabastian Barber, Waylon Barber, Isik Barber, Callie Barber, Gunner McClure, Tanner McClure and Sawyer Barber; sister, Lee Overton, brothers, John Blankenship (Cathy) and Doug Blankenship (Helen);sisters-in-law, Jean Peel and Hilda Helms; brothers-in-law, David Abercrombie, Jim Abercrombie, Julian (Deborah) Abercrombie and Mike (Margarette Ann) Abercrombie.

Judy was a member of Pea River Presbyterian Church where she was Chairperson of the Women’s Association.

She was the deli manager with Piggly Wiggly/ Food Giant in Abbeville and Clayton for many years. She also worked as a CNA for several years.

Judy was on the board of the Green’s Crossroads VFD and was a certified volunteer fire fighter.

Her hobbies were making jewelry and she loved giving it away. She also enjoyed decorating cakes and made them professionally for 20 plus years. Judy loved to travel and visit new places. She always wanted to travel to the Grand Canyon, but never got to go. We know she is enjoying that precious view now.

Judy dedicated her life taking care of people making them happy.
