Juanita West Orton, 83, born and raised in Baker Hill, passed on Saturday, June 18, 2022. She resided in Apopka, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Oscar Orton, her parents, Amos and Era Nell West, and her sisters, Lillian West Hallman, Emogene West Cullifer, and Nina West. sister, Sara Nell Wuska of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; her son and daughter, both of Apopka, Florida, Wylee West Orton (Linda) and Yvonne Orton-Pitts (Kenneth); and her daughter Nina Van Cooney (John) of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She spent her life teaching children of all ages, from kindergarten to college, in the educational systems of Utah, Alabama, and Florida. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
