JOHNNY WADE, JR

Mr. Johnny Wade, Jr, age 87, a resident of Clayton, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at his residence. Memorial graveside services with military honors will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. CST at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, AL with Reverend Curtis Rich officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.

Mr. Wade was born September 17, 1934 in Trenton, FL, the son of Johnny Wade, Sr. and Lois Parrish Wade. He faithfully served our country for 20 years in the Air Force. After his retirement, he was self-employed as a Housing Developer. John developed and built what is now known as Abercrombie Fish Camp in Clayton. He was a member of the Lions Club of Clayton and was a Gideon. He was an active member of Clayton Baptist Church. He loved traveling and spending time with his wife. John enjoyed eating and trying all types of foods. He was an outgoing, friendly man that really loved people. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Al Wade and Clayton Wade; daughter, Kelly Wade; and sister, Lois Stoddart. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Carol Wade; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; great friend, Orlando Laster; numerous nieces and nephews and two beloved dogs, Molly and Annie.
