Joan Elaine Reeder, beloved mother, grandmother, Meemaw and sister, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Stokes and Rev. Joe Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the County Line Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing. The visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until 12 Noon prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the County Line Primitive Baptist Church Association.

Born October 6, 1941 in Raleigh, North Carolina, Mrs. Reeder was the daughter of the late Ozzie Moreland and Ruby Powell Tysor. Joan was a devoted wife and mother. She worked closely alongside her husband as secretary and bookkeeper in their family businesses, Jet Refrigeration in Macon, Georgia and Mac’s Deer Cooler in Baker Hill, Alabama. She enjoyed camping, gardening and caring for her flowers. She was a woman of faith and attended Belcher Bethel Baptist Church and, in her later years, God’s Way Baptist Church. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clarence “Mac” Reeder.

Survivors include her children: Sherry (Gary) Barnes and David (Pam) Reeder; her grandchildren: Casey (Brandon) Perry, Kenneth (Courtney) Reeder, Zachary Barnes; her great grandchildren: Elijah Mac Reeder and Walker Kenneth Reeder; her siblings: Larry (Jeanette) Tysor, Carol Tysor and Ozzie (Pam) Tysor.

Active pallbearers will be Zachary Barnes, Albert Adams, Greg Marshall, David Reeder, Donnie Paul and Luke Paul.
