Jo Ann Williams McKnight, age 86, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Flowers Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, January 6, 2023 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating. Burial followed in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 10:00A.M. until service time.

Mrs. McKnight was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Mc-Knight; two brothers, John Edward Williams of Baker Hill and Charles Bennett Williams of Ozark.

Mrs. McKnight spent 32 years of her life in education. From 1959 to 1965, she taught at Midland City High School and Dale County High School. She began teaching in the vocational department of Enterprise High School in August, 1965 and continued there until her retirement in 1991. In 1983, she was selected as the Alabama Teacher of the Year.

Survivors include her son, Benjamin Lee (Ben) and his wife, Lisa Dickson McKnight, Boaz, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Brent McKnight and his wife, Courtney Honer McKnight, Granger, IN; Sara Lauren McKnight Phillips and her husband, Anthony Joseph Phillips, and great-granddaughters, Sara Callaway Phillips and Berkeley Anne Phillips all of Helena, AL.
