Mr. Foy Lee Phillips, age 83, of Elamville, AL passed away December 5, 2021. Graveside services were held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery. Kenneth Stafford and Mike Shafer officiated the services. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Pelham and Dennis Faulk. Pallbearers were Tony Reeder, Jerry Harp, Ruffus Williams, Tommy Casey, Michael Murphy, and Jason Bell. Cherishing his memory are his wife of 56 years, Catherine Phillips; son, Lee T. Phillips of Helena, AL; daughter, Tammy (Rob) Chester of Evans ; sister, Jeanette (Jerrell) Harden of Banks, AL; brother, Lavon (Helen) of Banks, AL; grandchildren, Brandon Phillips of Helena, AL, and Matthew, Sarah, and Drew Chester, all of Evans, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Bunyan and Inez Stokes Phillips and brother James Shelby Phillips. Foy was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Elamville. At the young age of 17, he went to the Navy for approximately four years. After his time in the Navy, he returned to work on the family farm and later worked as a painter until his retirement. In his retirement, he loved gardening, landscaping, woodwork, any activity on his farm, and spending time with his grandchildren.
