Ella Sue Harrison Crook, age 86, of Minter, Alabama, a native of Clayton, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Graveside Services were held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. from New Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, Alabama with Brother Steve Stephens officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Hebron Walker Harrison and Ella Louise Brown Harrison, and her husband, Elbert Lee Crook.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Becky (Melvin) Blackmon, Linda (Henry) Lynn, Martha (Larry) Blackmon; two sisters, Ann Orr and Jane Fenn; along with four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Two ladies who stayed with Sue became family as well, Edna Rudolph and Glenda McMeans, along with Willie Ed Moore who kept her yard, when she was no longer able. Sue was born on April 17, 1936 and was the oldest of three daughters. Elbert and Sue were married for 59 years. She loved flowers, plants and a garden. She had a green thumb and enjoyed being outdoors, along with hunting and fishing. Sue and Elbert started the Camp Creek Hunting Club. She was a founding member of Lowndes Academy.
