ELEANOR JEWELL KIRKLAND PRICE

Mrs. Eleanor Jewell Kirkland Price, a resident of the Adams Chapel Community near Texasville, passed away early Thursday morning, June 13, 2024 at her residence. She was 78 years old.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glover Funeral Home in Eufaula with Rev. Greg Brown officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. Burial followed in the Adams Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers were accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to the Adams Chapel Cemetery Fundc/ o Bobbie Hartzog: 2865 Highway 131 Clayton, Alabama 36016.

Eleanor was born December 28, 1945 in Abbeville, Alabama to the late Talmadge Kirkland and Irma Jewell Elmore Kirkland. After finishing high school in Abbeville in 1965 she attended Wallace College where she studied computer science and later worked her first job in Cedar Springs, Georgia. In 1968 after a lengthy courtship she married her loving husband, Max Price on June 29, 1968. At that time, they set up home in the Edgefield/Adams Chapel Community and she went to work at West Point Pepperell for several years and worked as a bank teller. Her last job before retirement was for the Barbour County Revenue Commission where she proudly worked for 27 years. After retirement she enjoyed playing games on her phone, watching old western movies, cooking, and was an Avid Alabama football fan. Eleanor had a wonderful personality and never met a stranger. She was a faithful member of Adams Chapel Methodist Church where she loved providing beautiful flower arrangements.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Ian Price; brother, James Robert Kirkland; sister, Patsy Early.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Max Price who passed away suddenly on Monday, June 17; two sons, Chris Price (Leah) and Jason Price; four grandchildren, Max Lee Price, Alex Price, Emilia Price, and Cameron Price (Catherine).

Asked to serve as pallbearers were Eddie Brogden, Keith Bryan, Keith Kirkland, Marvin Skinner, Bill Shelly, and Paul Hughs.Honorary pallbearers were members of Adams Chapel Methodist Church.
