Born August 4, 1924, Daisy Pearl Turner, a longtime resident of Clayton, passed away February 13, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Giddens Memorial Chapel officiated.
She was an usher and member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Clayton where Lee Roy Straw is pastor. She was a retired private nurse in Linden, New Jersey prior to returning to Clayton.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Pearl Sims and father, John L. Sims, of Clayton, sister, Rosa Lee Daniel of Warren, Ohio, aunts, Ollie Mae and Jeanne of Alabama, and a nephew, Jessie Daniel of Warren, Ohio.
“I am here to tell all my love ones and those that knew me, please don’t grieve for me and if you do don’t take to long. Because I am following the path that God has lead for me. I took his hand when I heard his call and turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, work or play. Task left undone must stay that way. I finally found that piece at the close of the day. If my parting have left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared a laugh and a kiss, and you can trust and believe that I to will miss. Be not burden with times of sorrow, I wish you sunshine of tomorrow. My life has been full, I have savored much, good times, good friends, a love ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief. Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with, God wanted me now God wanted me now, he set me free. I lived my life and a good one. Enjoyed my shopping and dressing in all my pearls and stepping in my high heels. We are will have to face this same journey one day, so please just be happy for me.”
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Roosevelt Haynes (Venessa ) of Warren,Ohio; Alvin Haynes of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jaysinyua Austin of Eufaula , Alabama, Valerie Haynes of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dino Haynes (Linda) of Columbus, Ohio, Gwendolyn Haynes of Warren, Ohio, John L Daniel of Warren, Ohio, all of the Charles Cole family in Clayton Alabama, best friends oh yes, Lyndon Peterson of Eufaula, (Appreciation for your caring and support), Simmie Lee Gullett of Eufaula, Charles Shorter of New Jersey, Ruth and Arthur Clark of Clayton and Clarence Bruce Clayton, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
