Christopher Anthony Orton, 44, of Clayton, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Born July 28, 1980 in Petaluma, California, Chris was the son of Richard Anthony Orton and the late Katherine Zagainoff. Chris cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, finding immense joy in the connections that defined his life. He took great pride in the son he raised, watching him grow into an incredible individual. Together with his wife, Chris was dedicated to building a life filled with dreams and aspirations, nurturing their relationship with love and commitment. He embraced his extended children as if they were his own, showering them with affection and support. Always humble, Chris was a reliable presence for those in need, offering to help without hesitation.
For 23 years, he devoted himself to his work as a water and sewer operator, finding fulfillment in serving his community. Music was a constant companion in his life, providing a soundtrack to his adventures, which often included driving to new places and savoring the delights of unique restaurants. He found excitement in riding offroad machines, relishing the thrill of exploration. Yet, perhaps one of his most memorable traits was his infectious smile, a beacon of warmth that touched the hearts of everyone around him.
In addition to his father, Chris is survived by his wife: Chrissy Orton; his children: Austin Franco, Malakhai Orton and Andrew Cave; his sister: Amanda Orton.
