DELIVER CHECKS - Sen. Billy Beasley and Rep. Berry Forte visited with Eufaula City Schools principals and assistant superintendent, Deltonya Warren when Sen. Beasley delivered community service grant checks to each principal for their school. They expressed appreciation for the support given to Eufaula City Schools by Senator Beasley and Representative Forte. Pictured are Dr. Brandon Kiser, principal of Admiral Moorer Middle School, Rep. Berry Forte, Deltonya Warren, assistant superintendent, Roshanda Lewis, principal of Eufaula Elementary School, Sen. Billy Beasley; Emily Jackson, principal of Eufaula High School, and Tina Richards, principal of Eufaula Primary School. Sen. Beasley presented community service grant checks to all school in the Senate 28 District he represents in the Alabama Senate.

Creat Paper Hats

ENJOY CREATING PAPER HATS - Residents of the Gardens of Eufaula Assisted Living Facility recently enjoyed creating hats using newspapers. This activity appears to be a big success with the residents. Shown modeling the hats they made, left to right, are Sherry Dahlstedt, Gloria Jinright, Opal Newsome, Clara Clark (seated) and Marietta Strickland. Suzanne Lynn, administrator at the facility, stated as the ladies headed to lunch, they all were anxious to show off their hat creations.

STAND OUT

STAND OUT - Freshman Anesia Eutsey pictured above stood out on the BCHS Track & Field recently when they participated in the Enterprise Invite # 4. She won second place in shot put getting a silver medal and also got third place in the discus throw gaining a bronze medal. This is her first year participating in track and is also a standout basketball player for the Lady Jaguars.

Applications open for ambassadors

Alabama 4-H ambassador applications are now open for high school sophomore, junior and senior 4-H members. Joy Scott, an Alabama Cooperative Extension System 4-H leadership specialist, is excited to start the search for new ambassadors to represent Alabama 4-H over the next school year.

FIRST TURKEY

Billy Williamson of Louisville is all smiles after harvesting his first gobbler recently. Williamson, age 67, who had never been on a turkey hunt, shot this huge turkey on his very first hunt! He stated, “I don’t know who was happier, me, my son, Leslie, who is an avid turkey hunter, or my grandsons, Trotter and Tate.” Trotter said, “Papa sure got a good one!”

Eufaula Pilgrimage Events

CHILDHOOD FRIENDS VISIT - Peggy Wallace Kennedy, a native of Clayton, autographs a copy of her book, “The Broken Road” for Rebecca Beasley at Shorter Mansion during the Eufaula Pilgrimage held last weekend. The two women have remained friends since their childhood days in Clayton.
