The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) 2025 Coaching Clinic came to an end last week with several good outcomes. The clinic included the North vs South sports competitions, new rules and test, banquets, and other exciting events.
The Barbour County High Jaguar Boys basketball teams are wrapping up their summer workout program this week. Junior High, Junior Varsity and Varsity players have all been working hard under head coach Raymond White and assistant coach Artez Jones.
The Lakeside School’s 2025 baseball team and Head Coach Tony Rasmus have been recognized as the only team in the nation to score over 500 runs.
The Barbour County High Lady Jaguars Basketball team participated at the Enterprise High Lady Wildcat summer team camp last Friday going 0-3. Games were played at the Wildcats gymnasiums.They fell to Carroll High 36-5, Luverne High 32-17 and Laurel Hill (Fl.) 36-29.
Kaitlin Peterson, a Eufaula native, has been added to the Ole Miss women’s basketball team’s 2025-2026 roster. The announcement was made recently by Yolett McPhee-McCuin, Ole Miss head basketball coach.
Barbour County High School recently held its all-sports athletic banquet in the school cafeteria. Athletes that participated in football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, track & field and cheerleading were honored.
The Barbour County High Jaguar Soccer team closed out the season a couple of weeks ago with a big 2-1 win over the Highland Home Flying Squadron on the road. They defeated the Squadron earlier for their first even win. It was also found out they got two forfeit wins over the Pike Liberal Patriots and finished the season at 4-11.
