Twin brothers, Joshua Paige and Caleb Paige

Twin brothers, Joshua Paige and Caleb Paige, signed recently with Florida State College at Jacksonville, FL to play basketball with full scholarships. They were joined by family, including their dad, Isaac, and their mother, Angel. Also shown with Joshua and Caleb are their Eufaula High coaches and Florida State College basketball coach, Frank Burnell. Joshua and Caleb have played basketball together on the same teams all their lives. They each have a goal of becoming a professional basketball player.

JROTC CADETS TOUR FACILITY

JROTC CADETS TOUR FACILITY - Cadets from Barbour County High School recently had an opportunity to glimpse into a pilot’s life, visit the officer’s club “The Landing” and the Aviation Museum. Cadets were able to experience what it feels like to sit in the cockpit and passenger seat of a fighter helicopter. Several of the cadets, during their visit, mentioned how they may attempt to become a soldier and a pilot. Two of the senior cadets, LaAsia Lampley and Antwan Gordon, have chosen a path in the military. LaAsia will attend a four-year college while serving in the Army National Guard. Antwan has chosen to go into the Army. Chief Warrant Officer II Kelvin Graham instructs JROTC at Barbour County High School.

G.W. Long wins state title

The AHSAA Class 2A state baseball champions were welcomed home to Skipperville last Thursday afternoon with cheers, horns, and confetti. The Rebels captured their 17th state championship earlier that day defeating No. 5 Decatur Heritage 8-1 at Jim Case Stadium on the campus of Jacksonville State to sweep the 2A title series.
