The Reeltown Rebels celebrated their homecoming in a big way Friday night marching over the Barbour County High Jaguars 76-0 in a Class 2A, Region 3 contest. With the loss, Barbour County fell to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in region play while Reeltown improved to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in region play.
The Eufaula Tigers fought a defensive battle Friday night against the Pike Road Patriots losing the battle to their former coach, Ed Rigby in overtime by a score of 16-10. The first points of the game came in the second quarter with 9:55 left on the clock until halftime. Anthony Rodgers, quarterback for the Patricks, ran 64 yards for the touchdown. The extra point was good, putting Pike Road on top 7-0.
The Barbour County High Lady Jaguar Volleyball team dropped two games last week at home falling to the Eufaula High Lady Tigers on Monday 11-25, 14-25 and 3-25 and the Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots on Tuesday 20-25, 9-25 and 8-25, and are now 0-8 on the season. The Junior Varsity fell to 0-6 on the season falling to Eufaula 1-25 and 21-25 and to Pike 14-25 and 15-25.
The G.W. Long Rebels of Skipperville defeated the Geneva County Bulldogs last Friday night in Skipperville by a score of 21-0.
The Luverne Tigers scored early and often running through the Barbour County High Jaguars defense en route to a 75-0 win Friday night in Clayton. The start of the game was delayed due to a stadium lights problem but was quickly resolved.
The Eufaula Tigers traveled down Highway 431 to Headland Friday night, September 2 for their second game of the season. Both the Eufaula Tigers and the Headland Rams entered the game undefeated.
The Barbour County High Lady Jaguar Volleyball team dropped both games last week to the Charles Henderson Lady Trojans in Troy Monday. The Varsity fell 9-25, 9-25 and 11-25 while the JV lost 22-25 and 9-25.
BY ANDRE WRIGHT The Barbour County High Lady Jaguars Volleyball team fell to 0-3 on the season dropping games on the road to the Eufaula High Tigers 5-25, 5-25 and 1-25; the Abbeville Yellow Jackets 18-25, 18-25 and 8-25; and the Pike County Bulldogs 12-25, 15-25 and 18-25.The JV lost their only game to Pike County 8-25 and 8-25 falling to 0-1 on the season. Against Eufaula, Trinity Lockhart had the only service point and Jaden Robinson had one block.
Barbour County dove hunters w ill be hitting the fields this weekend with the opening of Dove season. Hunters not only look forward to the harvesting of birds, but to the fellowship of being with other hunters on the field. Unlike many other hunting activities dove hunting is a very social event.
