Lakeside girls win AISA state championship

Lakeside Varsity Girls win back to back AISA state championships! After a few lightning delays Lakeside competed in the AISA State Cross Country meet recently at Kiesel Park in Auburn. The race was pushed back almost 2 hours due to weather delays as the chiefs finally ran the race in moderate rainfall. The varsity Lady Chiefs are the AISA Girl’s Cross Country State CHAMPS!!

Jaguars lose season openers

The Barbour County Junior High Jaguars boys and girls basketball teams opened the season last week and dropped all three of their games and are both 0-3 on the season. The girls fell to the Pike County Bulldogs on Monday 40-5 on the road, on Tuesday at home 5115 and Thursday at the D.A.

EHS Tigers win on final play 31-28

As the buzzer sounded last Friday night in Blakely, GA to end the game between the Eufaula High School Tigers and the Early County, GA Bulldogs, Yhonzae Pierre caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Copeland Cotton to win an unbelieveable comeback for the Tigers. The 31-28 victory is a defeat to the Georgia Class A, Division II No. 1 team.

Jaguars fall to Lanett 52-0

The Barbour County High Jaguar football team could not stop the running attack of the Lanett Panthers and fell on the road Friday night 52-0 in a Class 2A, Region 3 contest. With the loss, the Jaguars ended the season at 0-10 overall and 0-7 in region play.

Eufaula Tigers defeat Rehobeth 35-28

The Rehobeth Rebels traveled to Eufaula Friday night in hopes to defeat the Eufaula Tigers for the first time. Eufaula and Rehobeth have met each other on the football field 12 times with Eufaula coming out on top each time. Rehobeth was hoping that game 13 would be lucky 13 for them, but once again the Tigers came out on top, defeating the Rebels 3528.

Jags lose to Horseshoe Bend

The Barbour County High Jaguars could not stop the running attack of Horseshoe Bend and lost the battle to the Generals 57-8 Friday night on the road in a Class 2A, Region 3 contest. With the loss, Barbour County fell to 0-9 overall and 0-6 in region play, while Horseshoe Bend, who was celebrating Homecoming, improved to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in region play.

EHS Mighty Tiger Band competes in Midsouth Marching Festival

MITZI CLAYTON EHS PUBLIC RELATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST The Eufaula High School Mighty Tiger Band competed in the 58th Annual MidSouth Marching Festival at Titan Stadium in Gadsden, Alabama. They brought home all Superior ratings and the Bob Rush Award, named for the man who provided financing for the festival in its early years, for ones in all categories! Twenty-three bands from Alabama and Georgia competed.
