Barbour County boy & girls basketball teams defeat Bullock County Hornets

The Barbour County High Jaguar basketball teams made it a clean sweep over their rival, the Bullock County Hornets, before a packed gym in an earlier loss to the Lady Hornets. Sophomores Anesia Eutsey and Tamia Peterson led the team with 11 points each, Enasia Ivory 8, Brakiah Russell 7, ZyPrestiny Patterson 2 and Aaliyah Whitehead 19 for the Lady Rebels.

Practice hunting safety

Deer hunting is a popular recreational pastime for many Alabamians and especially in Barbour County. Recently it was reported that a 16-yearold hunter was injured when he fell from a climbing stand when his harness failed. The accident occurred on property located on Poor House Road near Clayton. He was transferred by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Local players named to Super 12 Team

Three area players were named to the Dothan Eagle Super 12 Football Team recently. Two were from Eufaula High School and one was from Ariton High School. Yhonzae Pierre, a senior defensive lineman/ tight end, for the Eufaula Tigers is an Alabama signee. In 10 games he had 64 tackles (51 solos); 23 tackles for losses, 10 quarterback sacks, 4 forced fumbles; 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown; 4 receptionsfor 50 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was chosen to play in the Alabama-Mississippi game.
