Eufaula High Cheerleaders place 3rd in national competition

Seventeen members of the Eufaula High 5A AHSAA State Championship Cheerleading Team and coaches, Meg Herring and Gayln Cody, traveled to Orlando, Florida this last weekend to participate in the three-day National High School Cheerleading Competition. This competition draws hundreds of teams from across the United States and is sponsored by UCA. EHS competed against 44 teams from across the Nation in the Medium Varsity, Non-Tumbling Game Day Division II.

Lady Chiefs 2A AISA state runners-up

The Lakeside Lady Chiefs lost to Edgewood Academy, 59 to 36, Friday afternoon, February 10, for the AISA Class 2A State Championship. The game was played at the Multiplex in Montgomery at 1:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the game, the Lady Chiefs, along with their coach were presented the state runner-up trophy.

Jags fall to G.W. Long

The Barbour County High Jaguar boys basketball team season came to a surprising end Tuesday night at home as they fell to the G.W. Long Rebels 53-49 in the opening round of the Class 2A, Area 3 Tournament held in Clayton. BCHS was the #1 seed and Long the #4. Ariton, the #3 seed upset the #2 seed Abbeville Yellow Jackets in the first game 79-58.
