The Reeltown Rebels marched to a 41-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 47-8 victory over the Barbour County High Jaguars in a Class 2A,Region 3 contest in Clayton Friday night. It was the home opener for the Jaguars and a beautiful brand new field house with concession stand was on display. It is the first field house in school history.
On Friday night the Eufaula Tigers hosted Greenville in a Region 2, Class 5A showdown. Eufaula came into the contest riding a two game winning streak, including last week’s region win over Headland. Eufaula held a 18-10 all time lead in the series, winning 10 of the last 12. Greenville came into the game 0-2 on the season.
The Barbour County High Lady Jaguars volleyball team dropped two matches last week falling to the Eufaula High Lady Tigers 25-7, 25-8 and 257 and Tuesday at home to the Pike Liberal Lady Patriots 25-12, 25-9 and 2518. They are now 0-7 on the year.
The Barbour County High Jaguar football team put a scare into LaFayette's Homecoming plans for a half trailing only 2-0, but the Bulldogs came out strong in the third quarter and scored 28 unanswered points in a 30-0 victory Friday night in Class 2A, Region 3 action.
The Barbour County High Jaguars fell behind early and couldn't keep up with the Luverne Tigers running and passing attack and fell 42-0 Friday night on the road. It was the first region contest for Barbour County who fell to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in Class 2A, Region 3.
The Barbour County High Lady Jaguar Varsity volleyball team fell to 05 on the season falling to the Pike County Bulldogs 25-8, 25-8 and 25-22 last Tuesday at home and 2513, 25-13 and 26-24 at the Abbeville Yellow Jackets last Thursday.
The Eufaula Tigers scored on its first six possessions en route to a 5614 victory over the Headland Rams Friday night at Eufaula’s first home game of the year. Eufaula moved to 1-0 in region play and 2-1 overall after the victory.
The Lakeside School’s Cross Country team traveled to Baldwin County to participate in a Cross Country meet hosted by Escambia Academy on September 7. The Chiefs had two first-place individual performances and four top 10 performances in the meet.
Last Friday night The Eufaula Tigers traveled north to face the 6A Stanhope Elmore Mustangs in Millbrook. It was the second time already this season that Eufaula has played a larger classification school on the road. The series between the two schools has been exciting over the years with both teams entering the contest having won 8 games each and only 16 points scored overall separating them. Stanhope was coming off of a 4213 road win over Shades Valley, while Eufaula was looking to rebound after a disappointing loss to Enterprise.
WRIGHT The Barbour County High Lady Jaguar Junior Varsity Volleyball team got their first win of the year and first win in four years defeating the Abbeville Lady Yellow Jackets JUVIA 25-10 and 25-9. Tiana Boykins led the team with 10 service points and 4 aces, Dylyah Crews 9 points and 2 aces, Samiya Marion 6 points and 1 ace, Yaneli Barragan 4 points and 2 aces, Ashunti McCray 3 points, Julia Belcamino 1 point and Nicole Franklin played good.
