The game was exciting from the opening kick as Cooper Wingate’s perfectly placed pooch kick found an open area of the Carroll return team with the Tiger’s recovering at the Carroll 35 yard line. The Tigers took an early 3 point lead on a 25 yard field goal by Wingate. The Eagles quickly responded with a 28 yard touchdown run by Keyshawn Cole to push Carroll to their only lead of the night. Eufaula quickly responded by going 71 yards in 6 plays with Marquia Harris scoring from 2 yards out to push the Tigers back ahead 10-7. Eufaula finished the first quarter with 17 points on the scoreboard after another nice drive. The Tigers covered 72 yards in five plays with the touchdown coming on a 35 yard pass play from quarterback Browning Anderson to standout wide receiver, Antron Mitchell. The Tiger duo would strike again mid-way through the second quarter. The touchdown pass play covered 48 yards and pushed Eufaula to their biggest lead of the night at 23-7. It would be short lived as the Eagles responded quickly with a 59 yard scoring pass play of their own, coming from Keyshawn Cole to wide out Peyton Plott, drawing Carroll to within nine, 23-14. They weren’t done though as the two connected again on their next possession to make the halftime score, Eufaula 23 and Carroll 21.
