Tigers to host Wildcats in playoffs

Eufaula heads into the playoffs on a winning note after outlasting the Early County Bobcats on Friday night, 27-24. The Tigers needed the tune up after an off week and missed out on several scoring opportunities, leaving the game within reach. Eufaula drove into Bobcat territory on all eleven possessions but only scored on 5 of them. The first Tiger touchdown came on a Browning Anderson to LaKeyveunte Pugh five yard pass play with 11:14 to go in the second quarter. Just a little over a minute later, the Bobcats answered with a touchdown of their own to make the score 7-6 in favor of Eufaula. On the next possession, Cooper Wingate came on to hit the first of two made field goals on the night, a 40 yarder, to extend the Tiger lead to 10-6. Eufaula once again went to the air to score the next touchdown, an 18 yard pass from Anderson to Antron Mitchell. The touchdown came with 1:38 remaining in the second quarter to make the score 17-6. The Bobcats quickly answered when Charles Williams broke free on a 51 yard touchdown run to make the halftime score 17-12.

Lanett Panthers run over Jaguars

The Lanett Panthers used a potent running attack and speed to run past the Barbour County High Jaguars Friday night in Clayton to a 62-14 win in a Class 2A, Region 3 contest. With the loss, Barbour County fell to 1-8 overall and 0-7 in region play and Lanett finishes the season at 4-6 overall and 3-4 in region play.

EHS loses to Charles Henderson

Charles Henderson hosted the Eufaula Tigers on Friday night in Troy’s Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Trojans, needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, Photos by Jeff Lee weren’t very hospitable as they handed the Tigers their first region 2 loss of the year.
