The Lakeside School cross country teams competed Saturday afternoon at Kiesel Park in Auburn, posting strong results against a competitive field. The JV girls’ team placed fourth overall, with several athletes finishing inside the top 35.
The Barbour County High Jaguar Volleyball team dropped the Varsity and JV game to the Charles Henderson Lady Trojans at home last Thursday and are both 0-7 on the season. The Varsity lost 25-10, 25-18 and 25-17. The JV lost 25-9 and 25-11.
The Eufaula Tigers delivered a dominant performance last Friday night, rolling past the Headland Rams with a 40-21 win at Tiger Stadium. Quarterback Jaylin Wright was electric, throwing for five touchdowns and rushing for another as the Tigers won their second region game of the season.
The Barbour County High Lady Jaguar Volleyball team fell to 0-6 on the season dropping two games last week on Tuesday at the Abbeville Yellow Jackets 25-22, 25-10 and 25-15, and Thursday at home to the Eufaula High Tigers 25-8, 25-18 and 25-13.
The Barbour County High Jaguar football team fell hard on the road Friday night as the Lanett High Panthers clawed their way to a 51-0 win. That was also the halftime score and the second half was played with a running clock.
Highland Home flew out to a 44-0 halftime lead and the Barbour County High Jaguars fell on the road Friday night to the Flying Squadron 52-0. Highland Home improved to 1-2 on the season and Barbour County fell to 0-2.
The Eufaula Tigers stunned defending Class 5A champion Montgomery Catholic on Friday night, rallying from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to claim a 35-24 victory.
Wallace Community College released the President's List which is compiled at the end of each semester. Students named to the President's List must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of college level coursework with a grade point average of 4.0.Ty'she-Una Jackson of Clayton, Jonathan Jackson, Kalan Storey, Albert Whitehead of Eufaula were named to the President’s List.
