Rhodes Bennett of Eufaula signed an agreement with Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City and will be play golf for Coach Danny Allen and the topranked Trojans. Rhodes, a senior at The Lakeside School, was awarded golf MPC and basketball offensive MPC at the Sports Banquet.
The Lakeside Chiefs baseball team celebrated a well deserved victory Tuesday morning when they shut out Edgewood Academy in the championship game. The Chiefs claimed the 2A Championship Title with a 10-0 win over the Wildcats.
The Barbour County High Jaguars Track & Field team had three athletes compete at the AHSAA Class 1A-3A State Finals in Cullman, Alabama. Even though neither brought home a medal, they represented the school well.
BY ANDRE WRIGHT The Barbour County High School Track & Field team competed in the AHSAA Class 1A-3A Sectional meet this past weekend in Andalusia, Alabama. It was hosted by Red Level High School at the Covington County Schools Track.
Carey Molden of Eufaula, AL, has been named to the Provost's List at Troy University for Term 3 of the 20232024 academic year. The Provost's List honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65.
The Lakeside Chief’s Track and Field team competed in the AISA State Championship track meet in Gulf Shores recently. Chloe Helms is the State Champion! She won 1st place in State 3200m, 1st place in State 1600m and 1st place in State 800m.
The Track & Field team competed at the Mike Spain Invitational Meet in Opelika last Friday. Senior Quay Johnson and junior Anesia Eutsey continued to do well as the only two that brought home medals. Johnson got third place in the 300 meter hurdles and Eutsey third in the disc.
The Barbour County High Jaguar Soccer team fell to the Providence Christian Eagles 11-1 last Monday on the road and the Northside Methodist Academy Knights on Tuesday at home 5-0. Providence improved to 9-4-1, Northside 7-7 and the Jaguars fell to 0-10.
