Luverne Tigers roll past Jaguars

The #1 ranked Luverne Tigers in Class 2A passed for 205 yards in the air and cruised to a 56-0 win over the Barbour County High Jaguars Friday night in Clayton in a Region 3 contest. With the loss, Barbour County fell to 08 overall and 0-5 in region play and Luverne improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in region play.

Senior Premier Exhibitor winners

Senior Premier Exhibitor winners in the Youth Swine Show at the Alabama National Fair on October 12 in Montgomery from left, are Alyx Johnson of Randolph County, first place; Molly Cox of Barbour County, second place; Dalton Fink of Calhoun County, third place; Travis Smith of St. Clair County, fourth place; and Sara Kate Stitcher of Randolph County, fifth place. Eufaula Tigers win battle over Greenville

The Eufaula Tigers took care of business Friday night, defeating the Greenville Tigers 42-7 in front of a packed homecoming crowd at Tiger Stadium. It was the kind of game that could easily have been a trap, the Region 2, Class 5A leaders facing the last-place team in the region during homecoming week, but Eufaula handled their business after a slow start, dominating the middle quarters to pull away for the win.

Jaguars lose to Eagles

The Barbour County High Jaguar football team put up a valiant fight Friday night for their Homecoming but the Goshen High Eagles flew over them for a 38-6 win in a Class 2A, Region 3 contest. However, the game was called off in the fourth quarter with 10:50 left due to a power outage.
