CELEBRATE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - Marshall and Betty Williams of Clayton celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on Friday, July 26. The 65th anniversary is symbolized by a Blue Sapphire, an occasion that marks practically a lifetime together. Marking 65 years of marriage is a remarkable milestone, with only about 2% of married couples reaching this occasion. The Williams are a beacon of true love, shining bright, an inspiration for all! The Williams have four children, nine grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
It was a momentous occasion for Ed Parish, Sr. of Clayton when he was presented with his 50-year pin as a member of Free and Accepted Masons.
Phil Clayton recently was presented the Pacesetter Award from the Eufaula Barbour County Chamber of Commerce during a board meeting. He is the recipient of the award in appreciation for his dedication and tireless efforts to restore commercial navigation to the Apalachicola Chattahoochee Flint River Basin.
Issac and Daisy Thomas celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary among friends and former classmates on July 5th at the Clayton Community Event Center. The couple was there to participate in the Barbour County Training School Alumni Reunion. Both Issac and Daisy are graduates of the school.
The Eufaula Housing Authority/Youth Build was the recipient of the second quarter of 2024 Power of 100 donation. The Eufaula Housing Authority/YouthBuild program provides low income, out of work young adults in Barbour County, ages 16-24 an opportunity to become productive members of their community.
Sam Miller of Midway was recently selected as a member of The University of Alabama Blackburn Institute's class of 2024. Only 50 students are chosen through a highly competitive process to be a part of the 2024 Blackburn class.
Clayton native and Wallace High School graduate, Jeanetta Britt, announces the release of her new novel, “The Twin Cousins.” Due to a quirky family history, two cousins are raised hand-in-hand, like sisters, twin sisters, in fact. Fans have the opportunity to help country music trio, The Castellows, win their first CMT Music Award. The singing sensations from Georgetown, GA have been nominated for CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year for their song “I Know It’ll Never End.”
