TASK FORCE OFFICER OF THE YEAR

Lt. Ethan Wiggins of Eufaula, pictured left, was recently recognized as the 2024 Task Force Officer of the Year for his outstanding service and commitment to public safety. As a Task Force Officer with the Drug Forcement Administration, Lt. Wiggins was recognized for the critical role he played in dismantling drug trafficking organizations and protecting communities across the Middle District of Alabama. Kevin Davidson, Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama, is pictured with Lt. Wiggins at the awards ceremony. Davidson said, “Wiggins’ dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts exemplify the very best of law enforcement. “

ENJOY CLASS REUNION

ENJOY CLASS REUNION - The Dr. T.V. McCoo High School classmates of 1967 recently celebrated their class reunion at Barb’s Country Kitchen in Eufaula. Classmates celebrated life, laughter and fellowship together and enjoyed listening to Oldies from the sixties, seventies and eighties. Soft music was enjoyed as the Valedictorian of the class, Minister Harvey Battle, shared. He also conducted an intimate Memorial Service for deceased classmates. Class members honored and acknowledged an elementary school teacher, Mrs. Johnson Treadwell. Before departing to go their separate ways, the group enjoyed taking photos together to remember the grand occasion. Christian O’Hara of Clayton

Christian O’Hara of Clayton, left, a student at Eufaula High School, and Aniyah Lynn, right, attended the inaugural Summer Scholar Academy at Auburn University recently. They were selected alongside other high achieving students from across Alabama based on their academic performance. They participated in ACT prep, resume workshops, college application and financial aid sessions and strength-building acitivites all while experiencing life on a college campus. Pictured, middle, is JuWan Robinson, former Executive Director, Enrollment Management at Auburn University. Christian is the son of Brittani O’Hara Grant and Aniyah is the daughter of Nikia Ervin and Anthony Lynn of Eufaula.
