Barbour County commissioners met in a very brief meeting Monday morning. It was a special called meeting to consider a resolution to oppose a local bill supported by Sheriff Tyrone Smith to require some qualifications in order to seek the office of Barbour County sheriff.
Some opposition has been voiced to a local bill that requires qualifications of candidates who seek the office of sheriff in Barbour County. On the other hand, there’s also a lot of support for the proposed bill.
