When we think of February, most of us think about Valentine’s Day! But it isn’t just about that. February is Black History Month. It is a time when communities across the country unite to honor the contributions made by African Americans to our nation’s rich history. This month is a reminder of the struggles, triumphs and the on going journey toward equity and justice. Most important, Black History Month is a month to acknowledge the generations of Black individuals who have faced and overcome diversity.
This week’s edition of The Record includes a voters list of all qualified voters in Barbour County. This is the first time in recent history that the entire list has been published in The Record because in past years, the voters list has been divided between the western and eastern divisions in the county with The Eufaula Tribune publishing the eastern division and The Record publishing the western division.
