I have always believed that prayer is important, and I have tried to be faithful in my praying life. Sometimes it seems, though, that the Bible has some big expectations. For instance, the Bible says we should pray without ceasing. I know it is important to pray and that prayer changes things, but how can I pray all the time? Does that mean I should be praying 24 hours a day? How can you pray without ceasing?
The small businesses that make up our communities are what make each community what it is. It’s the “Mom and Pop” stores that depend on support from local people to make ends meet and stay open to serve their customers.

Barbour County Sheriff Tyrone Smith graciously withdrew a local bill he had proposed to establish qualifications for the office of sheriff in the county. He deeply believes that establishing qualifications for the office of sheriff is in the best interest of all citizens of the county, not for himself personally, but for the citizens and the person who is elected as the chief law enforcement officer of the county.
75 YEARS AGO MARCH 25,1949 The Eufaula Senior 4-H Club basketball team defeated a fighting Bakerhill team 44 to 23 and were crowned County Champions at the tournament which was held in Clayton Saturday. Bradford Mathis was outstanding on defense for Eufaula.
