J. Gorman Houston, Jr., a retired Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, died Friday, September 13, 2024, at his Montgomery home. Mr. Houston is survived by his wife, Martha Martin Houston, his daughter Mildred V. Houston of Montgomery, and her daughters Katie Bratton (Bose) and children Bose and Millie (Raleigh, NC), and Martha Bonner (Stuart) and sons Stuart, William, and John (Charlotte, NC) and his son J. Gorman Houston, III (Jeanne) of Tuscaloosa and children, J. Gorman Houston, IV (Lakewood, CO), Leesa Boykin Hollowell (Wes) and children Jane, Mary Neal, and William (Tuscaloosa, AL), Rich Boykin (Melanie) and daughters Amelia and Laura (Mobile), grandchildren Basil Boykin and Charlotte Boykin of Cullman, Alabama, and his brother Billy V. Dorothy Claire Johnson Furth, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Baptist Health South. She was 92 years old.

Mrs. Faye Barefield Gulledge of Blue Springs passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 in a Birmingham hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Bertha M. Daniels Mulkey, (the sister of GIG David Daniels & sister- in-law of SGALLR Mamie Daniels), passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the age of 104 years at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula.

Caroline Wilson Daniel Slawson died peacefully at age 83 on August 31, 2024 at her home in Montgomery, AL. She was the third of five children born to Frank and Martha Daniel of Clayton, AL.
