SARA “SALLY” KINNEY MCDONALD

Sara “Sally” Kinney McDonald, 82, of Auburn, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Bethany House Inpatient Hospice surrounded by a few really special friends and her beloved daughterin- law, Nancy. She enjoyed a long life focused on family, friendships, sewing, crafting, and Jesus. She died on January 8, 2025, after a short illness.

NANALEE MADDOX MILNER METZ

Nanalee Maddox Milner Metz, 88, died December 14 of metastatic bone cancer in the presence of family at her Eufaula, AL home. An award-winning artist and former history teacher, Nan was known widely as the “Santa Lady” for the hundreds of Christmasthemed figures she created of polymer clay and fabric. She delighted in being commissioned by patrons to make Old World Santas dressed in repurposed furs, blouses or suits worn by their loved ones.

BARBARA RUTH STOKES DAVIS

Mrs. Barbara Ruth Stokes Davis, a resident of the Salem Community, died Saturday afternoon, January 4, 2025 in a Dothan hospital. She was 91 years old. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from Salem Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Peters and Reverend Tim Willis officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family received friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P. M. Mrs. Davis was born December 7, 1933 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Samuel G. Stokes and Bardee Walker Stokes. In 1952 she married her late husband, Joe Merrill Davis and they made their home in Barbour County. She worked with the Bank of Ozark and then with the bank in Clio until her retirement. Mrs. Davis was a talented artist and seamstress who loved homemaking and working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joe Merrill Davis; three sisters and one brother.

Mr. Jeffery Baxter (Sergeant First Class, Alabama Army National Guard, Retired), a resident of Louisville, died late Tuesday morning, November 26, 2024, at his home. He was 72.
