A suspect has been identified for his connection to a massive fire that completely destroyed two businesses in Union Springs early Saturday morning. Union Springs police are searching for the suspect who is believed to have started the fire as Tommie Cortez Holmes. Devastation of the fire that was believed to have been started about 4:00 in the morning quickly consumed the roof of the buildings and threatened adjoining buildings on Prairie Street in downtown Union Springs.
A Benefit Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday, April 26 at 4:30 a.m. for Adam and Liz Shelley of Eufaula. The tournament is being sponsored by Elite Sonar, LLC.

Four adjacent houses in Eufaula have a special significance in that they have a family connection.
Youth ages nine through 18 years of age have an opportunity to showcase their talents on Monday, February 10 at the Barbour County 4-H Competition. The competition will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Barbour County Extension Office in Eufaula.

Subscribers’ copies of The Clayton Record are normally leave the Clayton Post Office on the morning truck on Thursdays. However, this Thursday, they will not leave the post office until Friday morning.
