Family owned business leaves great legacy

Fond memories are being shared on social media about Louisville’s Hurst Pecan Company being “the busiest site in town..” The reflections on the activity at the pecan buying location and hardware store are reminders of “years gone by” after it was announced that the century-old business would not be opening or buying pecans this season.

Barbour County queens ready for pageant

Miss Barbour County Anslee Sawyer and Little Miss Barbour County Rylee Horne were honored last Monday evening, October 2 with a send-off party held at Trustmark Bank in Eufaula. Friends and family stopped by to wish the girls “Good Luck” before they head off to compete in their respective National Peanut Festival Pageants at the Dothan Civic Center.

Man arrested in Clio after chase

A high speed chase ended in downtown Clio early Sunday morning when a suspected thief rammed into the side of a building. According to Clio policeman, Captain Rickey Kennedy, the vehicle crashed into the side of the Calvary Hope Center building, formerly Clio Drug Store, located on Highway 10 and Robinson Street.
