High speed chase victim identified

The victim who eluded law enforcement officers, crashed after a high speed chase from Eufaula to Headland, and was eventually killed in an officerinvolved shooting last week has been identified. Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation identified the man as Cameron Alan Eaton, 33, of Blacksburg, S.C.

Preservation awards presented at annual association meeting

A large number of attendees gathered at Shorter Mansion in Eufaula Thursday night for the Eufaula Heritage Association’s annual meeting. The event was held at the spacious pavilion located behind the historic antebellum home that serves as the headquarters for the Heritage Association and the annual Christmas Tour of Homes in December and the oldest Tour of Homes in April.
