BCSO officers promoted

Barbour County Sheriff Tyrone Smith recently held promotional ceremonies for nine officers with the department. Sheriff Smith said, “We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication that these officers have shown each and every day.” He explained that the promotion process started in September and ended in November of this year.

The Crimson Tide survived another thrilling game that went down to the wire Saturday when they claimed the SEC Championship Title. They defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 27-24, the exact same score that ended with a Tide victory over the Auburn Tigers a week earlier. The victory earned the Tide a place in the playoffs when they will oppose Michigan in the Rose Bowl on Monday, January 1.
