A contract to hire instructional coaches for the Barbour County School System gained approval of the county Board of Education members. During last week’s regular board meeting, unanimous approval was given to enter into a contract with Baily Education Group, LLC.
Leading up to the March 5 primary election, candidates for the Barbour County Commission have been asked to respond to a questionnaire. Their responses will inform voters on their platforms, concerns, and plans if elected or reelected to office as a means to inform voters prior to going to the polls to vote.
Anthony Sanyaolu of Eufaula has been named to the President's List at Jacksonville State University for his outstanding academic performance during the Fall 2023 semester. To be named to the President's List, students must earn a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 hours of GPA course credit.
University of Alabama student Dalton Caraway of Clayton, is participating in UA's Cooperative Education Program during the spring 2024 semester. Caraway is working for WestRock Company.
A Eufaula woman suffered injuries from a gunshot wound to the pelvic area and police are in search for a suspect. The incident occurred on January 27 about 1:00 p.m. when Eufaula police responded to the 2800 block of S. Eufaula Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered an individual identified as Daven Dean suffering from a gunshot wound.
Christopher Mount’s family has filed a lawsuit against a correctional officer at Easterling Correctional Facility located in Clio. Mount died at Easterling in May of 2023.
Prayers offered from people far and near were answered Sunday afternoon when a little 4-year-old child, Phenix Wilkerson, was found alive and safe and reunited with his mom, Shyanne Ray, and the rest of his family.
