The 2025 Annual Membership Meeting of Pea River Electric Cooperative is set for Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19. The annual meeting will be held in two sessions to accommodate the greatest number of cooperative members. A business meeting will be held Friday, July 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Flowers Center in Ozark. The Flowers Center is located at the intersection of E. College St. and Carroll Ave. in Ozark. The purpose of this business session will be to discuss and pass on reports of the previous fiscal year, receive annual meeting and operational reports, and any other business that may be properly presented. Registration for the Friday night session will begin at 5:00 p.m. The Saturday information sessions on July 19 will be conducted by the director of the respective district, along with cooperative employees, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon. Members attending the Saturday sessions will receive a copy of the manager’s report as well as the financial report for the previous year.
A Barbour County man was arrested Tuesday on charges in connection with an armed kidnapping.
Cooper Wingate and Mallory White represented Eufaula High School recently at Alabama Boys State and Girls State held at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Boys State took place May 25-31 and Girls State followed June 1-6.
