Hay bales that appeared on a vacant lot in downtown Louisville became a major topic of discussion at Monday night’s council meeting. An estimated 50 large round bales of hay fill the vacate lot across from the Depot Convenience Store began to raise speculations as to the purpose of them being placed in town.
An explosion caused injuries to two men as they were working on a race car Sunday afternoon. The victims were identified as Carl Adam McManus and Cecil Greenwood.

Earl Forte, a Barbour County inmate incarcerated at Ventress Correctional Facility in Clayton, was one of three inmates granted parole on January 28. The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 18 parole hearings granting three paroles and denying 15. The board also held 10 hearings on requests for pardons, six of which were granted and four denied.
