Eufaula Elementary students visit Wehle Center for Field Day

Activities planned for National Police Week in Eufaula
May 12-18 is National Police Week and the Eufaula Police Department has a number of events planned for the public to be involved. May 13 will feature participants in a 5K walk, run and a Ruck March which is a military exercises that involves walking a set distance while carrying a weighted backpack.

Courtney Upshaw to speak at Barbour Chapter of UA May 2
The Bama in Barbour Chapter of the University of Alabama National Alumni Association will host a “Welcome Home Courtney Upshaw” on Thursday, May 2. The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Uptown Sports Bar and Grill in Eufaula.

Weatherization grants awarded to AL agencies
A total of $5.8 million in grants was awarded to Alabama agencies to help citizens weatherize their homes, including one organization in the Wiregrass, the governor’s office announced Thursday. The Organized Community Action Program Inc., which services Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Bullock, Barbour, Butler, and Lowndes counties, received $558,584.
