Clayton Senior Center

If you have driven down N Midway St. lately you will see a wonderful new addition to our building. Thanks to a generous donation from the Clayton United Methodist Church and some supplemental funds provided by the Barbour County Commissioners, we have a safe and attractive new ramp making our Center handicap accessible and easily accessible for our daily SARCOA food deliveries.

Barbour County Junior Miss

BARBOUR COUNTY JUNIOR MISS UNITED STATES AGRICULTURE - Hadley Kate McCraney of Louisville has been chosen to represent Barbour County at the Alabama State Pageant in Dothan to be held on January 28, 2023. Hadley Kate is a 4th grader at The Lakeside School. She loves agriculture. Her family owns and operates a large poultry farm, row crops, and grows produce. She loves pageants and is excited about representing her county. Hadley Kate is the daughter of Joe and Ashley McCraney. When she participates at the state pageant, she will be eligible for a $1,000 scholarship.

Josephine Rumph to kick off her book tour February 19

Local author, JoSephine Rumph, is kicking off her book tour to introduce her debut novel with family and friends in her home county on Saturday, February 19. The book signing of Broken Soul is set for 11 a.m. at Thelma’s Kitchen in Eufaula where the public can come by for the book signing to purchase an autographed copy of the book, and/or come early and enjoy lunch.
