BRIDE-ELECT HONORED AT BRUNCH

BRIDE-ELECT HONORED AT BRUNCH - Caitlyn Brown, bride-elect of Turner Bowdoin, was honored Saturday, May 14 with a Brunch/Shower at the home of Michelle Beaty in Clayton. Other hostesses were several friends of the bride. Upon arrival guests were served Mock Mimosas on the front porch. Guests dined on an array of Breakfast foods outside on the deck. Shown left to right, seated, are Jo Brown, grandmother of the bride-elect, Caitlyn Brown, the honoree, and Sunie Bowdoin, grandmother of the groom-to-be. Standing left to right, are Jackie Guthrie, Elaine Killingworth, both great aunts of the bride-elect, Susan Brown, mother of the bride-elect, and Angie Bowdoin, mother of the groom-to-be. Approximately 40 guests attended.

Community Colleges awarded monies for dual enrollment

An additional $5 million awarded by the Alabama Legislature for dual enrollment opportunities at Alabama’s community colleges will continue to increase the number of students who benefit from college classes while still in high school. In many cases, high school students are graduating with their associate degree either before or shortly after earning their high school diploma.
