Leadership Barbour Class XVI members held their Health and Human Services Day on February 9. The day started at Medical Center Barbour with a tour of the facility and visits in several of the specialty areas. A presentation of hospital operations was presented by Sonya Bedsole and Renae Farley.
The recently crowned Barbour County queens were special guest Friday night at the Sweetums’ Sneaker Ball held at the Barbour County Primary School in Clayton. The young ladies had a great time dancing, talking, and taking selfies with the students. The queens also donated several books to the school library, including “Sydney Tours Eufaula” and “Fancy Party Gowns”, the story of Clayton native, Anne Lowe.

The family of Marion Horne Beasley has endowed a scholarship at Troy University in honor of their mother, who taught in Barbour County from 1936-1981. During her lengthy career, Mrs.
Dr. Daniel Wilson, Director of Evangelism, Alabama State Board of Missions, will be at Cross Baptist Church, Eufaula, Sunday, February 26, to kickoff the Barbour Association 2023 Association- Wide Revival Service. The service will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Santa did not forget our Eufaula seniors this year as Jaxon Life Senior Center recently delivered bags filled with supplies for the holidays. These special bags were part of their “Santa for Seniors” Program which concluded Jaxon Life’s winter 2022 program.
Anna Elizabeth (Annie) Wingate, a graduating senior at Eufaula High School, has been named one of more than 5,000 candidates in the 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.6 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2023.
